Fairfield Lady Lions defeat West Union, fall to Manchester in recent games
On Monday night, the Fairfield Lady Lions gained a road win over the host West Union Lady Dragons by a 56-47 score in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.
Fairfield had a total of six players reach the scoring column with Brianna Barnes leading the way with 23 points. Barnes totaled seven two-point baskets and was 9-of-15 from the free-throw line.
Also in double-figure scoring was Trinity Huff with 11 points, as she made one two-point basket, one 3-pointer and was 6-of-10 in free-throw shooting.
Emma Fouch finished with 10 points in the win, as she totaled one two-point basket, two 3-pointers and she was also 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Other FHS scoring included six points by Madison Bronner, four points by Molly Thackston and two points by Lauren Arnold.
For the game, FHS scored nine points in the first frame, followed by 16 points in the second, 14 points in the third and 17 points in the fourth.
FHS totaled 13 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and they were 21-of-35 from the free-throw line.

On Jan. 28, the Lady Lions lost a home SHAC game to the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, 57-44.
In the loss, Fairfield was led in scoring by Samara Cannon with 12 points as, she converted three two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and she was 3-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Next was Brianna Barnes with 11 points, totaling four two-point field goals, and going 3-of-3 in her free-throw attempts.
Emma Fouch finished with eight points by making one 3-pointer and going 5-of-6 in her free-throw shooting.
Madison Bronner and Braylynn Haines each scored four points, while Lauren Arnold totaled three points (a 3-pointer) and Molly Thackston wrapped up the scoring with two points.
The Lady Lions scored six points in the first frame, followed by a 16-point second quarter. In the third, they added 13 points, and in the fourth they tallied nine points.
Totals as a team included 11 two-point baskets by the Lady Lions, along with three 3-pointers and they were 13-of-18 from the free-throw line.
