My observations. Milankovitch cycles have a great influence on our climate, you can check that out with most .gov agencies and MIT. https://www.climate.gov/teaching/resources/milankovitch-cycles
Algal blooms are caused by agricultural runoff, https://www.marineconservation.org.au/pollution-great-barrier-reef/........ Climate and Community Project and University of California, Davis study says Joe Biden's agenda cannot be accomplished as is........ https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jan/24/us-electric-vehicles-lithium-consequences-research........ Less than 1 percent of automobiles are EVs. They are undesirable and the government must force them on people
If our US, world government really thought this is a crisis, why not mandate 1 day a week as a shutdown, no businesses open, no driving? Would that not reduce co2 quicker than a 30 yr. plan. The facts are it's easier to control the masses with fear rather than force and indoctrination in compulsory education. I agree with the editor's remarks.

Brad, Every hurricane, strong storm system, heat wave, and polar vortex for the past 2 years or more; Biden, the news media, and other Democrat politicians all say that these "weather" events are absolute proof of man-caused "climate" change. They must not know the difference between weather and climate either. You can't have it both ways... I wish I was able to routinely travel the world. Using fossil fuel burning planes, trains, and automobiles for recreational activities then complain about how the ocean temperatures are rising... And if anyone has their freezer set at 31 degrees, then I can understand why they buy progressive propaganda as their gospel. My recent travel destinations are a little more modest compared to Brad's. I drove to Niagara Falls November 1st. First, I don't have SCUBA diving as a hobby. (Unfortunately, Canada and the State of New York expressively forbid my hobby due to their zealous ideologies and strict control of people's civil rights.) The last time I was at Niagara Falls was 1990. Then I went back 3 months ago. I was saddened to see that the brink of the Falls has changed since 1990. Water damage and erosion has shifted the precipice more than 30 feet up river! This precious gem is disappearing before our eyes. Soon, the Falls will cut past Grand Island and break into the far east shoreline of Lake Erie. Future generations will never enjoy the site and power of Niagara Falls. I also traveled to our 49th State last Memorial Day. I visited Exit Glacier near Seward. I was devastated while I was walking back the trail, towards the viewpoint, where the melting Glacier is currently shrinking. Along the trail, there were signs of the year where the Glacier was at that particular summer. 1940, 1962, 1988, 2007, etc... We are causing Exit Glacier to melt. For the past 20,000 years these massive ice sheets around the northern hemisphere are disappearing and we don't care. We must stop the global temperature rise now. We must stop the erosion of our landscape. But how? If a solution is figured out when will we know if it's working? Who gets forced to make the major sacrifices? While the elite continue in their routine carbon-consuming ways, flying diving, driving, and lying.

Brad, do you have any explanation for a change in the health of coral in two months? Did the water change temperature by that much in two months? Your 31 to 33 degree temperature change is a disingenuous and specious argument, you are citing crossing a phase change. If you want to go down that path, go from 211 to 212 degrees...that is a temperature change which every boiler in the world relies on. I thought you had gotten better than this. Sounds like the best way to stop global warming, if it exists, is to have you stop flying around the world to look at coral--you are no better than John Kerry and Al Gore on this subject--flying around the world then telling the rest of us to crawl into our hovels and not exhale. Personally, I fly around the world with no guilt for the entire argument is a foolish hysteria--I don't lecture others who do the same.

I started scuba diving over 35 years ago when I worked in Hawaii. For the past two years I have been sailing and diving in the Carribean, the Mediterranean, Australia, Malaysia and the Gulf of Thailand, where I am currently. (I use a VPN to get access to certain foreign sites like the HCP). I started this comment planning to describe the damage I am seeing first-hand when my wife asked me, "why bother? You are trying to convince people who apparently don't know the difference climate and weather. People who believe that all of the climate scientists and every university and research institute in the world have secretly conspired to falsify data". I didn't have an answer for her. So instead, I am just going to recommend that anyone who would actually like to know a little bit more watch a documentary currently playing on Netflix called Chasing Coral. In it you will see time-lapse photography of reefs dying right before your very eyes. I am not talking about over the course of decades or even years, but over the span of just 2 months. You will see reefs on the Great Barriers Reef go from vibrant, colorful, living creatures teeming with fish, to dead brown skeletons covered in algae in 2 months due to rising ocean temperatures. If you are one of the people who say that 2 degrees is no big deal, try turning your freezer from 31 degrees to 33 and see what happens.

It would appear climate change is the story we're being fed while the globalists are in charge of a geoengineering program being carried out by our military industrial complex. This is happening on a worldwide basis. Geoengineering is engineering that involves large-scale manipulation of the earth's environment. This can then be packaged and sold as climate change. This has been going on for decades. In fact, on May 27, 1962, Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson presented the graduation speech at Southwest Texas State University. In that speech he said, He who controls the weather, will control the world." His vision was not about the benefit to mankind, but about the ultimate control of mankind. This manipulation includes wildfires, storms, droughts, tree die-off and much, much more. Don't take my word for any of this. Check out Dane Wigington on https://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/ads/dane-wigington/. He sources all of his work and has been studying these issues for a long time.
Geoengineering is only one piece of the puzzle. We are seeing or have seen unsecured borders allowing massive inflows of illegals and drugs, stolen elections, destruction of food processing plants, attacks on power stations, the killing of livestock, higher than stated inflation, shut down of pipelines, manipulated financial markets, now a possible world war, people and military members that are begin given shots that are killing or injuring a lot of them, shutting down of small businesses while corporate mega stores are able to operate, censorship of those that speak out against the narrative, selling of petroleum out of our strategic oil reserves while we pay higher prices here, and on and on and on. Is anyone else seeing a pattern here? Jim's observation was right. The solar farms look interesting, but they are lacking solar panels. But look at how much prime, productive farmland was taken out of production.

One kind of people, those who think that government officials don't have political, cultural or other agendas, that's a disturbing degree (pun intended) of gullibility. NOAA "scientists" (i.e. statisticians) simply adjust the data to show a politically correct trend toward global warming. Their careers and future funding depend on having the politically correct answers not the scientifically correct ones. Doing this year after year ensures the goal of radically altering temperature records to fit the global warming narrative and that is climate fraud.

I heard part of Gore's speech (rant). He sounded a bit mental. Perhaps he spends too much time in the high altitudes required by his private jet.

Brad, What could "we" have done differently the past 100 years to prevent the loss of 14% of coral reefs the past decade? What can we do now to gain that 14% back? What can we do to get 10% more????!!!

Brad, I think that some day you will be writing here about Climate Change what you recently wrote here about the high speed trains in California. Hysteria (not by you, but on the part of others) is not science. Serious scientific subjects are not approached the way Climate Change has been approached. Did you watch Mr. Kisin's speech referenced in the article? He is not a scientist, he is a comedian. The points he is making are not about the science, but what our individual capabilities are to react to anything that pops up on the national or international stage. He is taking a very large view of the conditions we find ourselves in and drawing some sobering conclusions. If you haven't, I urge you to take 15 minutes and watch it.

I've had an epiphany recently. Instead if California sucking the Colorado River dry, why can't water be pumped out of Lake Tahoe and Mono Lake to supply the state's wants and needs? And I've also thought, if water is so precious in California, why is there hundreds of golf courses and millions of lawns that use water? Why are there thousands of car washes and swimming pools in that dry state?
