Robert “Bob” Dean Newkirk, 55, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born Jan. 25, 1964 in West Union, the son of Vonda (Newkirk) Dolph.

Growing up, he was raised by his mother and his papaw, Harley Newkirk, who both instilled in him the importance of family, loyalty and the value of a day’s work.

Bob worked for Sewell Motor Express at the CVG airport for eight years. He was proud of his job and enjoyed being a truck driver. He was a sports car enthusiast and enjoyed riding his
motorcycle with his wife, Pam, and taking his family fishing. What he loved most was spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Pam Newkirk, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1994 in Hillsboro. He is also survived by six children, Jason (Kimberly) Lawson of Chauncey, Shawn (Jessica) Lawson of Hudson Beach, Fla., Kyle (Brooke) Lawson of Hillsboro, Kathy (Mike) Schwalbach
of Chillicothe, Brooke (Rick) Williams of Lancaster and Bridget (Adam) Yazell of Lynchburg; 17 grandchildren, Cody Lawson, Josh Smith, Caleb Lawson, Seth Lawson, Emily Lawson, Chloe Lawson, Isaiah Lawson, Olivia Baker, Royal Baker, Victoria Lawson, Kaitlyn Schwalbach, Keanu Oettinger, Kylee Saunders, Nolan Yazell, Calleigh Yazell, Brayden Dean Yazell and Megan Britton; five great-grandchildren, Haegan, Cairen, Micah, Kinley and Adalee; one sister, Debbie (Damon) Haught of New Market; two nieces, Ashley Haught
and Abby Haught; his mother-in-law, Connie White; three brothers-in-law, Mark White of Hillsboro, Michael (Jim Martin) White of Columbus and James (Cindy) White of Lake Lorelei; a cousin, Lain Smart whom he thought of like a brother; and close friends, Shane (Laura) McCoy of Cherry Fork.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert “Bob” Dolph; maternal grandparents, Harley and Dorothy Newkirk; and his father-in-law, Darryl White.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Lamb will be officiating. Burial will follow in the New Market Cemetery.
