Melvin “Pickle” West, Jr.
Melvin “Pickle” West, Jr., 68, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1953 in Bainbridge, the son of Melvin W. and Mary K. (Williams) West.
He was a former chief of police in Bainbridge and worked for the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jo “E.J.” West; children, Melvin “Chip” West of Florida, Kathryn Lynn West, Kayleca and Morgan Fuller all of Bainbridge; one stepdaughter, Amber O’Brien of Waverly; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn K. West, Brenda Sue Dickey and Billi Jo Jones.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services observed.
The Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.

My sympathy to Melvin's wife and family. He was very serious with his responsibilities as policeman in Bainbridge many years ago. If someone needed help, he would go out of his way to offer them assistance.
