Madeline Landess, 95, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2022.

Madeline was born in Brown County on April 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna (Burson) Berry.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Landess, on Jan. 30, 2018; a sister, Mildred Keethler; and a brother-in-law, Paul Keethler.

Madeline was a homemaker who loved her garden and flowers. She was an amazing cook and baker. She always had cookies, pies and cakes to eat and to share with her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family. Madeline was a devoted Christian and a member of the Hollowtown Church of Christ where she attended for 70-plus years.

Madeline is survived by her son, Ted (Jackie) Landess of Sardinia; a daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Lane of Sardinia; a granddaughter, Amanda (Shawn) Eagleston; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Lily Eagleston; a special person and like a daughter, Judy (Gall) Higbee; four special angels, Linda Moberly, Sharon Sibrel, Karen Young and Ebbie VanPelt; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Services will be noon Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Hospice of Hope, Danville Church of Christ or to the Church of Christ Hollowtown.
