Kenneth “Kenny” S. Lerch, 60, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Sept. 18, 2022 at his home.

He was born May 24, 1962 in Dayton, the son of A. Edward and Anne Moran Lerch.

Kenny worked at Union Stock Yards and was the owner of Red Dot Trophies. He was very social and liked playing practical jokes and square dancing. His favorite thing to do was talk to others; Kenny didn’t know a stranger.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Leslie Marie Lerch, whom he married Dec. 19, 1987; his children, Jacob Scot Lerch and Jessica Marie (Owen) Jones, both of Hillsboro; his mother, Anne Lerch of Hillsboro; and his siblings, Steve Lerch of Hillsboro, Eileen (Joe) Hahn of Lebanon, Matthew Lerch of New York City, Dr. Cathy (Mike) Shanahan of Hillsboro, Mark (Mary Kay) Lerch of Hillsboro and Patty (Damon) Walker of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, A. Edward “Ed” Lerch; and mother- and father-in-law, John R. and Nancy Smart.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
