Christmas in Marshall Dec. 3
The Marshall School Committee invites everyone to Christmas in Marshall,
Dec. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at the Marshall School gymnasium in Marshall. Enjoy
turkey and dressing, homemade noodles, mashed potatoes and all the
trimmings. A free-will donation will be accepted.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to drop by for a visit and pictures. A
benefit auction to help replace the windows will begin at 6:30 p.m. Auction

Lynchburg Lions Club candy sale
under way through Dec. 31

The Lynchburg Lions Club is having their annual candy sale through Dec.
31. There will be 35 different varieties of candy, and all items will be in
the usual 12-ounce bags.
Candy will be available in Hillsboro at the Highland County Republican
Headquarters at 200 West Main Street. It will also be available at the
Southern Hills Community Bank and Kratzer's Pharmacy in Lynchburg. The Club
wants to thank these businesses for volunteering to provide space for the
candy sale.
The locations in Lynchburg will be open during regular business hours.
The location in Hillsboro will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from
10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Additional

Mowrystown Holiday Craft
Fair & Bazaar Dec. 3

The annual Mowrystown Holiday Craft Fair & Bazaar will be held Saturday,
Dec. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Whiteoak High School, 44 North High
Street, Mowrystown.
There will be something for everyone. Lunch will be available. Please
stop by and check out the many crafts and vendor items.

Lions Club to sponsor Mowrystown
Old Tyme Christmas Parade

The Mowrystown annual Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 3.
Lineup will be at Nutrien Ag Solutions, 115 West Main Street, at noon,
with judging at 12:30 and the parade will start at 1 p.m. It will end at the
Whiteoak High School, where the Mowrystown Craft Fair & Bazaar is being
held. Santa will be available for photos, and cookies and hot chocolate will
be served.
The parade theme is "Winter Wonderland." Cash prizes will be given for Best Float, Best Decorated Vehicle and Judges Choice.
The Mowrystown Lions Club is sponsoring this parade and they would like
to make it to be the best parade ever held in Mowrystown. Everyone
(including all organizations and businesses) is encouraged to come and

Reception for Jeff Duncan
set for Dec. 14

A farewell reception in honor of outgoing Highland County Commissioner
Jeff Duncan will be held Dec. 14 from 2-4 p.m. in the large basement meeting
room of the Highland County Administration Building. Duncan has served two
terms (eight years) as Highland County commissioner and is currently the
commission president. His term ends Dec. 31.
Light refreshments will be served during the reception. Guests are
welcome to stop in at their convenience.

Knights of Pythias
Lodge 696 Christmas
party Dec. 17

The Knights of Pythias Lodge 696 will hold their annual Christmas party
Saturday, Dec. 17 beginning at 4:45 p.m., with a dinner at 6:15 p.m. (bring
a covered dish). The lodge is located at 1879 state Route 73 in Belfast.
Santa will arrive at 7:30 p.m. There will be drawings, door prizes,
50/50 drawings, fun, food, prizes and games.
Gifts are donated by local merchants, friends and families. The lodge

SATH Breakfast with
Santa set for Dec. 3

The SATH (Supplementary Assistance to the Handicapped) organization will
be sponsoring its annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the
Hopewell Center at 5350 West New Market Road, Hillsboro. Reservations are

adult. Activities for the children include getting their picture taken with
Santa, making a Christmas decoration with the help of Santa's elves and

Greenfield Christmas
parade Dec. 3

The 41st annual Greenfield Christmas parade has been scheduled for
Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Lineup will begin at 1 p.m. at the Greenfield
Research parking lot at 347 Edgewood Avenue in Greenfield. The route will
start down North Street, turn right on 7th Street and left onto Jefferson
Santa will be available at the courthouse lawn following the parade to
discuss children's wishes and to pass out candy.
The parade is sponsored by FOE 1325 (Greenfield Eagles) with generous
support of the community. The event is being organized by Teresa Wisecup.
This year's theme, "Miracle on Jefferson Street," represents the
exciting new businesses moving into the village.
Also announced for the parade are this year's grand marshals, which will
be Master Sgt. John Wilson and the McClain Cadet Corps.

Operation Homefront's
Toy Drive under way

Operation Homefront's Toy Drive continues through Dec. 2.
The Highland County Veterans Service Office will again assist with this
program at the local level as the toys are purchased and collected at the
Hillsboro Dollar Tree store, and will disperse the donated toys to qualified
applicants starting on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Bowersville Christmas
Craft Show Dec. 9

The Bowersville Christmas Craft Show will be held Friday, Dec. 9 from
4-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Mike's Auction
building, located behind the gas station on Route 72. Come out and do some
Christmas gift shopping with our crafters. There will be door prizes, food

Free food program
Ohio residents 60 years of age or older may be eligible for a new free
food program at the Highland County Church of Christ through the Freestore
Foodbank. Qualified individuals would receive a box with dry goods, such as
rice, cereal, canned vegetables, etc., monthly. To see if you qualify,

New Life Church & Ministries
resumes food giveaway

New Life Church & Ministries, located at 6101 S.R. 247 in Hillsboro, has
resumed its weekly food giveaway. The food pantry will be offered every
Friday from 1-4 p.m. Individuals are asked to wait until after 10 a.m. at
the absolute earliest to get in line for the food giveaways.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro
will conduct outreach sessions on the second Saturday of each month at St.
Mary Parish Hall, 119 E. Walnut St. in Hillsboro from 10 a.m.-noon.
Volunteers will be available to meet with neighbors seeking assistance on a
first-come, first-serve basis. SVdP will no longer be holding the additional
