candy sale under way
The Lynchburg Lions Club is selling bulk candy through December.
Candy is available at Southern Hills Community Bank, Kratzer's Downtown
Pharmacy and Hamilton Insurance Agency in Lynchburg and across from the
courthouse in the old firehouse building on Governor Trimble Place in
Hillsboro. Forty-one different varieties are on sale. For information about

Junior Fair market
beef tagging Dec. 4
Highland County Jr. Fair Exhibitors: If you are planning to show a
Market Steer and/or Market Heifer at the 2022 Highland County Jr. Fair, tag
in will be Saturday, Dec. 4 from 8-10 a.m. at the Union Stockyards. This
will be the only day and time that Market Steer and Market Heifer animals
will be tagged, weighed and hair samples taken for DNA for the 2022 Highland
County Jr. Fair. Exhibitors may tag up to four Market Beef and show two at
the 2022 fair. If you have a steer or heifer that was bred and born in
Highland County, please make sure you have the breeder's name, address and
phone number at tag in for your paperwork to be complete. Tags cost $2 per
tag. Please have correct change.

Christmas in
Marshall Dec. 4
The Marshall School Committee invites everyone to Christmas in Marshall
Dec. 4 from 4-7 p.m. at the Marshall School Gymnasium in Marshall. Enjoy
turkey and dressing, homemade noodles, mashed potatoes and all the
trimmings. A freewill donation will be accepted. Santa is expected to drop
by for a visit.

A special meeting of Greenfield Village Council has been scheduled for
Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Council/Conference Room of City Hall (third
floor), 300 Jefferson Street, Greenfield. The meeting has been called for a
work session assembly to discuss the economic development plan and its three

to hold Christmas dinner
All members and families of the George A. Lambert American
Legion/Auxiliary of Sardinia are invited to attend the Legion Family
Christmas Dinner. This annual event will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12
at the Legion Hall, 106 College Avenue, Sardinia. The meat, drinks and table
service will be provided. Please bring a covered dish and a wrapped gift for
the auction. All proceeds from the auction will go to the AGAPE Council to
help those in need.
Some entertainment is being planned for your enjoyment, and Santa will
make an appearance with a treat for the little ones. Bring your entire
family (kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, etc.) and a friend who might be

Mowrystown Holiday
Craft Fair & Bazaar,
Old Time Christmas Parade
The annual Mowrystown Holiday Craft Fair & Bazaar will be held Saturday,
Dec. 4 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Whiteoak High School, 44 North High
Street, Mowrystown. There will be something for everyone. Santa will be
making a stop following the Holiday Parade, and hot chocolate and cookies
will be served. Lunch will be available. Please stop by and check out the
many crafts and vendor items.

• The Mowrystown annual Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 4.
The lineup will be at Nutrien Ag Solutions, 115 West Main Street, at 1 p.m.,
judging at 1:30 p.m. and the parade will start at 2 p.m. and end at the
Whiteoak High School, where the Mowrystown Craft Fair & Bazaar is being
held. Santa will be available for photos, and cookies and hot chocolate will
be served. The parade theme is “Small Town Christmas.” Prizes are $100 for
first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. The Mowrystown
Lions Club is sponsoring this parade, and they would like to make it to be
the best parade ever held in Mowrystown. Everyone (including all
organizations and businesses) is encouraged to come and participate.
Decorate your car, truck, golf cart, 4-wheeler or tractor. Bring your horse,
goat, dog, etc. And, don't forget about entering a float. Be creative with

Knights of Pythias Lodge 696
Christmas party Dec. 18
The Knights of Pythias Lodge 696 will hold their 36th annual Christmas
party on Saturday, Dec. 18 beginning at 5:45 p.m., with a dinner at 6:15
p.m. (bring a covered dish). The lodge is located at 1879 state Route 73 in
Santa will arrive at 7:30 p.m. There will be drawings, door prizes,
50/50 drawings, fun, food, prizes and games. Gifts are donated by local
merchants, friends and families. The lodge members thank all those who
participated in last year and are looking forward to this year’s party.
Face masks are required, and social distancing will be observed.

Saint Vincent de Paul outreach
Saint Vincent de Paul outreach will be held the third Tuesday of every
month from 10 a.m. to noon at Samaritan Outreach, 537 N. East Street, in
Hillsboro. The primary focus is assistance with utility bills. This program
cannot help with rent or mortgage. Please bring a copy of the bill you need
help with. Volunteers will assist with referrals as needed. For more

SOESC meetings
The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) board meeting is
Dec. 14, 6 p.m. at the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center at the
Clinton County office located at 3321 Airborne Road, Wilmington.
