The Wilmington City Schools Board of Education has selected James “Jim” Brady to serve as their superintendent, effective Aug. 1.
Brady will replace Melinda McCarty Stewart, who served the district as superintendent since July 2017. She will be taking the lead as superintendent at Kettering City School District.
“During my 20 years in the Marine Corps and subsequent 25 years in education, I’ve had the opportunity to work around the world, this great country and the state of Ohio,” Brady said. “I am excited about the opportunity to lead the school district in the town I have always called home.”.
“The Wilmington City Schools Board of Education is excited to have Jim Brady as our new superintendent,” Board President Michael Flanigan said. “Jim has an extensive background in public education and brings a wealth of experience to the district. We welcome Jim and look forward to his engagement with the district staff, students and community members.”
Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) was proud to assist the Wilmington City Schools Board of Education in their search for a superintendent to lead the district.
SOESC provides quality regional educational services to the school districts in Adams, Clinton, Fayette and Highland counties.
