On Jan. 12 at 12:16 a.m., the Hillsboro Police responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 400 block of South West Street.

Officers responded and found a male occupying a vehicle. As the officers were verifying ownership of the vehicle, the male occupant put the vehicle in drive and fled the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle with lights and sirens as the driver continually refused to comply.

The vehicle pursuit ended near Mowrystown with officers apprehending Austin Hilterbran, 21, of Hillsboro. Hilterbran was arrested for failure to comply, reckless operation and other charges.

Hilterbran was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
