COLUMBUS – State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) this week congratulated the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation on its centennial year of advocating for Ohio's agricultural communities.

Several hundred farm bureau members from around the state gathered at the organization's "Ag Day at the Capital."

"For 100 years the Ohio Farm Bureau has worked hard to build understanding and raise up leaders in the agriculture industry," said Peterson.

"I congratulate them on this significant milestone and I appreciate the leadership and resources they have provided to Ohio's farmers, like myself, over generations. One of my greatest honors was serving as the President of Ohio Farm Bureau for five years prior to serving in the Ohio General Assembly."

At the event, Senator Peterson joined Senate President Larry Obhof to present a commendation in recognition of the organization's 100-year anniversary, and farm bureau members heard from various statewide elected officials and met with legislators on agriculture-related issues.

Senator Bob Peterson represents the 17th District in the Ohio Senate, which encompasses all or part of Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Vinton counties.
