Rep. Wenstrup named ranking member of the Defense Intelligence and Warfighter Support Subcommittee on House Intelligence Committee
Rep. Brad Wenstrup
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) was selected by Republicans on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) to serve as the ranking member of the Defense Intelligence and Warfighter Support Subcommittee for the 116th Congress.
“Rep. Wenstrup has been an invaluable member of the Intelligence Committee, and I’m confident he will do great work as a subcommittee ranking member,” said Ranking Member Devin Nunes.
“As a member of the Army Reserve, I know firsthand the importance of reliable intelligence on the battlefield to complete the mission safely and effectively. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure our warfighters have access to the very best timely, relevant intelligence information,” Wenstrup said.
According to the Committee Majority, the Defense Intelligence and Warfighter Support Subcommittee will oversee policies and programs focused on providing our nation’s warfighters accurate, timely, and relevant intelligence in support of military operations. This subcommittee will foster greater awareness, collaboration, and more effective deployment of resources across the IC related to the collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination of strategic and tactical intelligence.
Congressman Wenstrup has served in the U.S. Army Reserve since 1998, currently holding the rank of Colonel. In 2005-06, he served a tour in Iraq as a combat surgeon, and was awarded a Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge for his service. In 2018, Colonel Wenstrup was awarded the Soldier’s Medal.
