Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Friday he will name Stephanie Ranade Krider to serve as his Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs.
The Legislative Affairs Division is charged with acting as the Secretary’s liaison to the leadership and members of the Ohio General Assembly as well as the Governor and other executive office-holders.
“Stephanie has spent many years building a trusted relationship with legislative leaders on both sides of the aisle as well as advocates across the political spectrum, and I am very pleased she has agreed to put her wealth of experience to work on behalf of the people of Ohio in her new position,” Secretary Husted said.

Stephanie Ranade Krider has served in different capacities at Ohio Right to Life for a total of five years, currently holding the post of Executive Director. In 2013 and 2014, she worked as a Project Manager in the Governor’s Cabinet Opiate Action Team, where she coordinated the efforts of at least seven cabinet offices to address opiate addiction issues in the State of Ohio.
Krider began her career working with then-State Representatives John White (R–Dayton) and Peggy Lehner (R–Kettering) in the Ohio House of Representatives. She also interned for Vineyard Columbus, a church in Westerville with weekly attendance of approximately 9,000, where she and her family remain members.
“It’s been an honor to lead one of the strongest pro-life organizations in the country, but I am grateful for this opportunity to serve the public in a new capacity with Secretary of State Jon Husted,” stated Krider. “I admire Secretary Husted’s leadership and look forward to working to advance legislation and policy on behalf of all Ohioans. I’ll always remain involved with the pro-life movement, and I am honored to work for a great pro-life leader moving forward.”
Krider currently resides in Clintonville, where she and her husband, Jeff, are raising their two daughters. She will assume her new post on April 11, 2016.
