Ohio Republican lawmaker wants stimulus checks tied to COVID-19 vaccine
Stivers
Ohio Republican Congressman Steve Stivers said he supports President Joe Biden's call for a $1,400 stimulus check, but only if the recipient gets a COVID-19 vaccination first, according to a
Newsweek
report. (See

.)
"I hope the administration will look at that option because we actually buy something with our $1,400 – and that's herd immunity," Stivers said.
"The quickest thing we need to do if we really want to help the American people, is get this economy turned back on – get people back to work, get kids back in school, get ourselves some herd immunity, get the vaccine distributed as quick as we can and get the uptake rate up. That's why I'd be willing to accept a $1,400 stimulus check if people are willing to take the vaccine."
Stivers is currently serving his fifth term as a member of Congress. He represents Ohio’s 15th Congressional District, which is made up of 12 counties, including all of Clinton, Fairfield, Hocking, Madison, Morgan, Perry, Pickaway and Vinton counties and parts of Athens, Fayette, Franklin and Ross counties.

Simply, in addition to the 1400 currently planned on in reconcilition: PAY EVERYONE ANOTHER 600 FOR PROOF THEY GOT COVID VACCINE PAID OUT AS PROOF IS VERIFIED BY FED GOVT. This would be a true incentive: divorced from COVID stimulus entitlement issued to all.

Not enough tax payer money to go around? Not enough money for tax payers to spend. Families put out on the streets! Landlords/ladies not getting paid. Utilities not being paid. Utilities being turned off. Utility companies not being paid. Workers laid off. People who have never had to take help from anyone now wait in line for hours for food that is not enough to feed the family .I could go on but we all know what's happening. It is a sad time for our country. Our new president isn't thinking before he signs orders to overturn what Trump did.

What qualifications, knowledge or skills are required to be a politician? Believe I know the best answer but searched the internet for hours in the event I'm mistaken... nothing found. ••••Publisher's note: One of the best explanations for being a politician is that he/she/it must follow the Mushroom Principal: Keep people in the dark and feed them a lot of crap.

So if I have a severe allergic reaction and die, I have committed suicide? Right?

No way they can keep the 1400 I've heard 500 have died after receiving vaccine.

Yes, How ridiculous! Don't connect funds with the vaccine. After all, didn't Trump want to give the American people $2,000, so it was ok to approve $600.00 while Trump wanted the $2,000, and now Biden can approve the other $1,400.00 that way he can look like a hero!

This is one of the most stupid things I have seen regarding covid shots and stimulus checks. How will that fix anything? There aren't enough shots to go around now. If people have to wait to get a shot in June how is that going to help people pay rent or mortgages now? How about the people that are trying to get shots and can't find any place to get one? And families with growing children? The shoes bought at the beginning of the school year don't fit now. Do these children go to school with shoes that are too small or go without shoes? People need help now!!! Really Mr. Stivers???

If I got 2 vaccinations do I get $2,800? (that's $1,400 times 2 for some of you Biden voters) How about since I already tested positive, will the U.S. government supply me 10,000 rounds of free ammunition? Since there are severe ammo shortages right now, bullets are way more valuable than cash. Wait until the gas prices go up the next 4 years.

What a grand concept. Let's just bribe the populace with a $1,400 or $2,000 so-called stimulus check. This suggestion would be laughable coming from any Democrat. Coming from Stivers, though, it is just sad. Shake that D.C. money tree.
