The Highland House Museum, located at the corner of East Main and South East streets in Hillsboro, will be open from noon-5 p.m. Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

Among the things to see and do include:

• An exhibit on Bell’s Opera House posters. A limited number of Bell’s posters will be on sale.

• Dr. Tara Beery will be signing and selling her new book on Civil War Store Cards from 2-4 p.m.

• Tour of the museum and cabin will be available.

• All precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of volunteers and visitors.

July 4 Celebration at Highland House

• Hours noon-5 p.m.

• Flag-raising ceremony at noon, followed by patriotic readings and music and a ringing of the bell.

• The museum and cabin will be open.

• There will be games for kids.

• Dr. Tara Beery will sign and sell her book from 2-4 p.m.

• The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chips, soft drinks and cookies.

• The parking lot in the back of the museum will be available for social distancing and visiting with friends.
