The Stanley Black and Decker production plant in Brown County will close this fall, according to a Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification (WARN) Act letter sent to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The facility is located at 9301 Hamer Road in Georgetown.

The letter from Georgetown Plant Manager Nicholas Iknayan, dated July 11, estimates that “approximately 94 employees will be affected by this action.”

“At the end of the process, all positions and jobs at the facility will be permanently eliminated, although it is possible some employees will be offered transfers to another area,” Iknayan wrote.

According to the letter, the plant will be “permanently closing … in several phases, with the first phase taking place between Oct. 21 and Nov. 1, 2019.”
