Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera announced that on Sept. 25 at approximately 4:30 a.m., deputies from the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, the Highland County Prosecutor’s Task Force, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Wilmington Police Department safely took Nickolaus Kyle Garrison into custody, without incident, at a motel in Clinton County.

As previously reported, Garrison, 34, of Hillsboro escaped from custody during a sentencing hearing in Highland County Common Pleas Court Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Highland County sheriff’s deputies received several tips of the whereabouts of Garrison. In a followup to the tips, a search warrant was obtained by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and executed.

Garrison was found and taken into custody. He was transported to the Highland County Jail, where he now faces further charges.
