A Highland County grand jury returned indictments against 17 individuals during their Sept. 10 session.

A seven-count indictment was handed down against Gage Allen Pitzer, 23, of Greenfield. Pitzer is facing the following charges:



• Felonious assault, a second-degree felony;

• Abduction, a third-degree felony;

• Receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony;

• Domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor;

• Endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor;

• Having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; and

• A forfeiture specification.

According to the indictment, Pitzer’s charges stem from an incident Aug. 10. Pitzer allegedly “did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm” to a female victim “by means of … a rifle and a handgun.” Pitzer also allegedly “did … knowingly by force or threat, restrain the liberty of [the victim] under circumstances which cause a risk of physical harm … or placing her in fear.”

In addition, Pitzer faces a domestic violence charge after he allegedly “did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to … a family or household member.” On the same date, Pitzer allegedly “created a substantial risk to the health or safety” of a 5-year-old victim, leading to the charge of endangering children.

It is alleged that “through the commission of a theft offense,” Pitzer “did receive, retain or dispose of … a .22 Marlin model sixty firearm.” He was also allegedly in possession of a Ruger AR-556 and a Smith and Wesson SD9 VE, both of which are subject to forfeiture. According to the indictment, Pitzer was charged with having weapons while under disability due to a previous charge of assault on a police officer on Feb. 10, 2012 in Highland County Juvenile Court.

Several other individuals are facing charges for alleged crimes against children.

• Brandon McNamara, 34, of Williamsburg, was indicted on two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies.

For the first count, it is alleged that McNamara engaged in sexual conduct with a victim under 13 years of age between June 1-30, 2019. The second count alleges that McNamara engaged in sexual conduct with a victim under the age of 13 between July 1 and Aug. 19, 2019.

• In a separate case, Rodney D. Kimball, Jr., 46, and Shanna Kimball, 42, both of Hillsboro, were each charged with one count of endangering children, a third-degree felony. It is alleged that on or about the period of Jan. 1, 2016 through June 3, 2019, both defendants “created a substantial risk to the health or safety” of a child between the ages of 2 and 5.

• A three-count indictment on drug charges was handed down against Steven M. Willett, 52, of Greenfield. Willett was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of possession of heroin, also a fifth-degree felony.

• Derek James Kimmey, 24, of Hillsboro was charged with two counts: a charge of burglary, a second-degree felony, and a charge of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. According to the indictment, it is alleged that Kimmey “did by force, stealth or deception knowing trespass” into a woman’s home April 10 and allegedly stole money from the victim.

Other indictments include:

• Robert Holaday, 45, of Hillsboro was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana, both third-degree felonies.

• Justyn Noah Osborne, 22, of Greenfield was charged with one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine and one count of possession of heroin, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Harold Allen, 42, of Peebles was charged with one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony.

• Briton Anderson, 28, of Greenfield was charged with one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Casey L. Fleagle, 30, of Hillsboro was charged with one count of possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony.

• Derrick L. Ison, Sr., 37, of Hillsboro was charged with one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

• Dillon T. Schumacher, 24, of Winchester was charged with one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• George Baker Jr., 49, of Greenfield was charged with one count of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

• Tabitha Holsinger, 42, of Bainbridge was charged with count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

• Corbin Kellough, 23, of Greenfield was charged with count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

• Brittany Marie Long, 29, of Hillsboro was charged with one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.
