Ohio reports jobless claims for April 11-17

Ohioans filed 22,098 initial jobless claims last week, according to statistics ODJFS reported to the U.S. Department of Labor. The total number of initial jobless claims filed in Ohio over the last 57 weeks (3,242,861) was more than the combined total of those filed from 2013-19.

US Department of Labor announces funding opportunity to support workforce training in Appalachian communities

The U.S. Department of Labor, in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Delta Regional Authority, Thursday announced the availability of approximately $29.2 million in a third round of grant funding for the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Initiative. Grant awards will range from $150,000 up to $1.5 million.
