The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for southern Ohio and northern Kentucky for Sunday, Jan. 16 and Monday, Jan. 17.

Heavy snow is possible, with a total snow accumulations of 3 to 4 inches possible late Sunday and early Monday.

Highland, Adams and Brown counties are included in the watch area.

Today – Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 29. Northeast wind 10 to 13 mph.

Tonight – Mostly clear, with a low around 17.

Sunday – Snow, mainly after 3 p.m. High near 35. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Sunday night – Snow, mainly before 2 a.m. Low around 22. Northeast wind 8 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

M.L.King Day – A chance of snow, mainly between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. West wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Monday night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.

Tuesday night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Wednesday – A chance of rain after 1 p.m., mixing with snow after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday night – A chance of snow before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday – Partly sunny, with a high near 28 and a low around 14.
