Highland County has reached 40 COVID-19 cases, according to the Highland County Health Department’s most recent update posted Tuesday.

The 40 cases include six people currently sick and 33 who have recovered, with one death. Seven people have been hospitalized throughout the pandemic, although no one is hospitalized at this time.

Of the 40 cases, 33 have been lab-confirmed and seven are probable.

There are also 16 other individuals in quarantine currently being monitored for symptoms.

The Health Department will next host a Facebook Live event discussing COVID-19 and related issues Wednesday, June 24 at 12:30 p.m. (This is a change from their normal schedule.) The community is encouraged to watch and ask questions.
