Forbes has selected The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for its 2021 list of America’s Best Large Employers.

The academic health center is ranked 14 out of 500 employers and second in the Healthcare and Social Industries category.

“This recognition is an outstanding testament to our faculty and staff who continue to demonstrate excellence in research, education and health care delivery, as well as creating a culture of support that embodies our shared values,” said Dr. Hal Paz, executive vice president and chancellor for health affairs at The Ohio State University and chief executive officer at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. “We have an exceptionally talented team and will continue to work collaboratively to foster an environment that values, supports and invests in employees so that we can attract, develop and retain the best and brightest because that is how we continue to be a leader in improving health and well-being.”

To determine the list, Forbes partnered with Statista to survey 38,000 employees working part- or full-time for companies and institutions with more than 1,000 employees in the United States.

Survey participants shared how likely they were to recommend their employer to family and friends. They also evaluated companies in their respective industries on aspects such as talent development, social responsibility and more. Employers cannot apply for consideration.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the best employers across many industries, not just health care,” said Alison Mincey, senior associate vice president of human resources at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. “As we seek to be an employer of choice, we take pride in our Buckeye spirit and investing in a diverse and inclusive team of people who help create a workplace culture of respect, curiosity, collaboration and integrity.”

With more than 27,000 employees, Ohio State Wexner Medical Center offers a robust total rewards package including comprehensive health coverage, generous retirement plans, tuition assistance and health and wellness resources.
