The World War II years provided a unique backdrop to campus life at Wilmington College, as the student enrollment dipped to barely more than 100, the vast majority of whom were women. On Oct. 26, 1944, the war came even closer to the College when an Army P-47 fighter plane suddenly appeared on campus.

  • Lynchburg-Clay FFA hosts AgDay

    During the event, the FFA members educated our elementary students about agriculture. A total of 45 FFA members and four adults assisted with the event. FFA members served as group leaders and led the elementary kids around to each station. Other FFA members served as teachers of the various entertaining and interactive stations.

    MHSmart was created to help McClain students with needs like school supplies, clothing, funding and weekend meals. Recently, businesses, community members and staff have supported the cause by helping stock the food and clothes pantries and sending monetary contributions for other needs.

    McClain students and staff welcomed two new teachers to its building this year, one being new to the Greenfield Exempted Village School District. Washington Court House resident Mark Bihl has joined the Tigers as an intervention specialist, co-teaching in algebra II and geometry classes.
