Adena Health System to offer COVID-19 vaccinations starting Jan. 20

Adena Health System is set to receive 300 doses of the Pfizer vaccine early this week in preparation to begin administration on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the PACCAR Medical Education Center located on the campus of Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. Adena’s vaccination administration will be by appointment only.

NRA to seek bankruptcy reorganization, move to Texas

The National Rifle Association announced on Friday, Jan. 15 it seeks to file for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. It’s part of a move the pro-Second Amendment rights organization is taking to restructure as a Texas-based organization and leave New York, where it has been incorporated for about 150 years.

Ohio State transforms Schottenstein Center into mass vaccination site

Staff from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center vaccinated more than 400 of their peers Friday, Jan. 15 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The vaccination program was a trial run before the home of the basketball Buckeyes turns into a mass COVID-19 vaccination site for patients and the public. The vaccination program at the Schottenstein Center begins Jan. 19 and will eventually have the capacity to provide more than 3,000 vaccines per day.

A Wilmington man has been charged federally with making interstate threats and threatening a witness. The crimes arise from the man’s alleged communications online related to his participation in the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at the United States Capitol.
Elizabeth Walters elected new chair of Ohio Democratic Party

Elizabeth Walters, a member at-large of the Summit County Council, was elected the new chair of the Ohio Democratic Party. Walters is the first woman ever to lead the state party. She replaces David Pepper, who stepped down after six years as chairman at the end of 2020.
