On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Rocky Fork Branch Library held their grand opening celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new branch is located at 11125 North Shore Drive in the former Rockhold, Brown & Co. Bank building. The branch will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The branch manager is Kathe Chaney, and staff members include Chelsi Snyder, Jennifer Lowe, Ginny Whiting and Gayle Patrick.

No new library card is needed for this location, as currently library cards are good at any Highland County branch. The Rocky Fork Branch carries all types of books including large print and audio books.

Library Director Jennifer West and Board of Trustees President Fred Yochum spoke with open house attendees about the new branch and thanked all those involved with not only the remodeling of the building to prepare for the opening, but also those who have helped support the project and kept things moving for the years leading up to the grand opening of the Rocky Fork location. The Rocky Fork Branch will be a huge asset to the ever-growing lake region.
