Born of pandemic-related needs and a spirit of helping the community, Adient has stepped up to offer their services.

This has come in the form of foot-operated sanitizing stations. Made of painted plastic piping, the mechanism is simple to use and completely hands-free.

According to Adient Plant Manager Bryan Thompson, from the design of the sanitizing stations to the building of them, it has all been in-house. The maintenance team at the plant has “embraced” the idea and been responsible for the construction of the sanitizing stations.

Community support is important to those at Adient, and during the pandemic, this was a good way to help.

“We are all about keeping our community safe,” Thompson said.

He said Greenfield’s Adient has donated 28 stations to the Greenfield Exempted Village School District, including smaller ones for the little kids; some to Adena Greenfield Medical Center; as well as some for other Adient plants.

On Friday, Adient donated sanitizing stations to the village for use in the city building, with Greenfield City Manager Todd Wilkin and council chair Phil Clyburn on hand to accept them.

“We are thankful to have a partner in the community that cares for the community,” city manager Todd Wilkin said. “Adient is that partner.”
