Family impacted by November tornado grateful for community’s help
To the editor:
This is to thank all of those who helped, and all of those who offered to help, after our farm on Kincaid Road was hit by a tornado on Nov. 16, 2021 at 2:30 a.m.
First of all, we are very thankful no one was hurt.
We live in Washington Court House, so we didn’t know about this until daybreak. By that time, Highland County had come to the rescue. Someone had removed a large uprooted shade tree from the center of Kincaid Road.
We lost all of our shade trees with the exception of a large oak tree, which is nearly 100 years old. The 1912 house stood its ground, with the exception of the vinyl siding being damaged by flying debris.
A special thanks to Kayden Lamb and Kayley for all the work they did. Also, a special thank-you to all the work done by neighbors, friends, family and professional people who brought their tools and heavy equipment to help us restore our buildings to their previous status.
This is a century farm, and it behooves us to keep it in a good state of repair for future generations.
Thank you, Highland County. God bless you all.
Janice Teeters and Family
