The march in Chillicothe is one of hundreds happening nationwide on January 19, 2019, commemorating the 2017 Women’s March on Washington. “On January 19, people from around the country will unite in Washington, DC, to make their voices heard,” said Beth Workman, a spokesperson for Chillicothe Sister March. “We’ve been organizing locally to advocate for the policies that matter to us, and impact women’s lives, and we’re flooding the streets in solidarity with our sisters in DC to remind the country that Chillicothe resists. Two years after the historic 2017 Women’s March that was the largest single-day protest in US history, women, femmes, and allies will march in towns, cities and communities from Chillicothe to Los Angeles as part of a nationwide #WomensWave. “The 2017 Women’s March galvanized this country and birthed a new wave of the women’s rights movement,” said . “That wave is taking to the streets, here in Chillicothe and nationwide, and we’re coming with an agenda.” Who: Chillicothe Sister March What: Women’s March Sister March When: January 19, 2019, at 11:00 AM Where: Ross County Courthouse For more information on the Chillicothe Women’s March, visit https://actionnetwork.org/events/ross-county-womens-march For more information on Women’s Marches around the country, visit womensmarch.com. # # # Women’s March harnesses the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.
