The Highland County Special Olympics Wildcats traveled to North Adams High School on Thursday to face the Adams County Board of DD Hawks, where the Wildcats won, 51-49.

“The game was tied with 12 seconds to go,” Wildcats coach Nathan Boatman said. “Shawn Eldridge made the winning two points to put the Wildcats in the lead with two seconds left in the game. This game was such a thriller.”

Eldridge finished the game with eight points.

Leading the Wildcats in scoring was Jordan Humphries with 12 points, followed by Stephen Adams with nine. Malik Rutledge and Amiri Harewood each scored six points, and Brandon Evans chipped in five. Adding two points each were Chris Tissot and Timmy Adams.

The Wildcats are now 8-2 on the season.
The Highland County Special Olympics team will be on the road again Friday, as they travel to Wilmington College to take on the Clinton County team. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
