Lady Mustangs suffer 1st SHAC loss of season
Lynchburg-Clay held to 14 points in 1st half by Eastern Brown

All winning streaks eventually come to an end, and for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, they saw their undefeated record in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference come to a close on Monday night. LC lost on the road to the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors, 50-46, sending them to their second overall loss on the season.
LC (11-2) entered the game with the Lady Warriors with an undefeated mark in the SHAC, but being held to just 14 points in the first half, seven points in each quarter, didn’t help their cause in the road game.
After the first half came to a close, LC trailed 19-14 by allowing nine points in the first quarter and 10 points in the second. In the second half, LC outscored the Lady Warriors, 17-11 in the third, but in the fourth frame, LC was outscored 20-15 for the four-point loss.
LC was led in scoring by McKayla Binkley with 17 points, followed by Hannah Binkley with 13 points. Peyton Scott and Zoe Fittro each finished with seven points, and the scoring was rounded out by Emily Pinkerton with two points.
Allison Day led the Lady Warriors with 20 points. With the win, Eastern stays undefeated in the SHAC, taking first place in the Div. I conference standings at 7-0, while LC falls to second place at 5-1.
The rematch between the two teams will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26 at LCHS.
