The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gained a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win Tuesday night, defeating the Ripley Blue Jays.

The Mustangs (5-2, 5-6) won by a 23-0 score in five innings, as the scoring began with a three-run first inning. From there, the Mustangs added 12 runs in the second, one run in the third and seven runs in the fourth inning to complete the scoring.

LC ended the game with 15 hits, and leading the way was Josh Wolfe at 4-for-4 with three runs and a double. Also with three hits was Ethan McConnaughey at 3-for-5 with two doubles and one run.

Having one hit each for LC were Drew Pitzer, Caden Hess, Nathan Burns, Austin Long, Forrest Elam, Zack Proctor, Bricen Hess and Kyle Luneke.

The Mustangs also forced 10 walks with Pitzer, Blake Croy and Drew Lewis each forcing two.

LC pitching combined to allow no hits, as Pitzer was the winning pitcher. In two innings on the mound, he allowed no hits, runs or walks, while striking out four of the seven batters he faced. Alex Barber pitched three innings of relief. He faced 11 batters, allowing no hits, runs or walks.
