The Hillsboro Indians turned a one-run lead into eight runs in the seventh and final inning Monday night, defeating the host East Clinton Astros, 8-0 for a South Central Ohio League win.

Hillsboro (3-1, 5-1) didn’t score their first run until the top of the fourth inning and added the other seven in the seventh inning. In all, the Indians totaled six hits and had one error. The Astros finished with four hits and two errors.

The Indians were led at the plate by Justin Scott with two hits and three RBIs, Also with a hit for HHS was Hunter Chain, as Chain had one RBI. Ethan Watson also finished with one RBI for the Indians. Cayse Cameron, Chain and Watson each forced one walk.




On the mound for the Indians and gaining the win was Kelton Anderson. Anderson pitched six shutout innings at East Clinton, throwing 16 first-pitch strikes against the Astros. Anderson finished with six strikeouts.

This was the second win of the season for the Indians over East Clinton, allowing them to sweep the season series. Earlier in the season on March 29, the Indians won by a 14-1 score.
