The McClain Tigers were not able to defend their home court Friday night, falling to the visiting Unioto Shermans of the Scioto Valley Conference by a 56-29 score in non-conference play.

MHS (0-5, 1-8) trailed at the end of each quarter, beginning with a 14-10 deficit at the end of the first frame. That was followed with an 11-6 second quarter in favor of UHS for a halftime lead by the Shermans at 25-16.



The third and fourth frame did no favors to the host Tigers as they were held to single digits in each quarter, with the Shermans winning the third frame at 19-8 for a lead of 44-24 after three quarters. In the fourth, UHS won the quarter at 12-5 for the 27-point win over McClain.

Garrison Banks led McClain with seven points. Devin Carter and Dakota Irvin each followed with six points each.
