Sixteen runs and 15 hits equaled a picture-perfect day for the McClain Lady Tigers Monday, as they won a home South Central Ohio League game over the visiting Washington Lady Blue Lions, 16-6.

Of the 15 hits collected by the Lady Tigers, Allison Beatty was a perfect 4-of-4 from the plate, scoring three runs and collecting three RBIs. Chantel Landrum went 3-for-4 with three runs and six RBIs for the victorious Lady Tigers.

Totaling two hits each were Kendall Pollard at 2-for-4 with two runs, a steal and two RBIs and Kaylee Stevenson at 2-for-3 with three runs, a triple, one sacrifice and four RBIs.

Mackenzie Anderson finished with one hit, three runs and was hit by a pitch on two occasions. Payton Smith also had one hits, as did Beckley Smith (one run, a double, one RBI) and Abby Shrout (one run, one walk, one RBI). Also for MHS, Liz Kegley had one RBI.

Shrout was also the winning pitcher, going all five innings of the run-rule win. The MHS pitcher faced 14 batters where she allowed six runs (all unearned) on six hits and six walks. Shrout collected four strikeouts.

As for the MHS scoring, they scored five runs in the first, followed by a seven-run second, two-run third and two-run fourth inning.

Washington scored four runs in the second, one in the fourth and one in the fifth inning.

Next for MHS is an away game on Wednesday at Hillsboro. MHS was postponed with East Clinton, Tuesday due to rain and field conditions.
