The McClain Lady Tigers played their first-ever Frontier Athletic Conference game at Jackson High School Saturday, Dec. 2. The Lady Tigers played close through all four quarters but fell to the Jackson Ironladies, 40-32.

The loss moves McClain to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the FAC.

Junior Maddy Stegbauer led the Lady Tigers with 20 points, including scoring the first 11 points of the game for MHS. At the end of the first quarter, McClain trailed Jackson by just one point at 12-11.



At halftime, MHS freshman Kyla Burchett connected on a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer for a halftime score of 22-18 in favor of Jackson. Jackson also led at the end of three quarters by a 32-25 score.

Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Macie Adams and Kelli Uhrig, who each added three points. Jaelyn Pitzer followed with two points, and Hunter Scott scored one free throw for MHS.

McClain finished 1-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Jackson’s leading scorer was Rebekah Green, who finished with 23 points.

Next for McClain is another FAC match, as they host the Miami Trace Panthers on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
