  • Fairfield Lady Lions compete in Akron Spring Showcase Tournament

    The Fairfield Lady Lions spent the weekend participating in the Akron Racers Spring Showcase Tournament in Akron and playing some very tough Division II and III opponents. The games were rained out on Sunday, but the Fairfield varsity team was able to play three games and the Fairfield JV team two games.

    The Hillsboro Indians boys track and field team continued the excellent start to their season by winning the Washington Blue Lions Invitational on Friday in Washington C.H. as they defeated 11 other teams en route to the win.

    The Fairfield Lady Lions shut out the Ripley Lady Blue Jays by a 10-0 score in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game play on Thursday at Fairfield. The Lady Lions’ victory was their fourth in as many days against SHAC opponents with three being shutout wins.

    For the first four and a half innings, the Whiteoak Wildcats and Fairfield Lions were battling in a pitcher’s duel with the score tied at two. Then the Wildcats’ bats got hot in the 75-degree weather, and the game took a big lean toward the direction of the host Wildcats.
