Richard Lee “Dick” Harvey, 75, of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.
He was born Sept. 26, 1942 in Greenfield, the son of Robert A. and Helen (Anderson) Harvey.
He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 14, VFW 4736, F.O.E #1325, Amvets Post 61. He retired in 2010 from Cascade Corporation in Springfield, where he served as a machinist, and then returned to work again for a total of 56 years of employment. He was a 1961 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hurless) Harvey, whom he married March 9, 1974; one daughter, Yvette (Will) Highley of Greenfield; two sons, Jeremy Harvey of Greenfield and Brandon (Brittany) Harvey of Leesburg; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamilyn, Macinzey, Payton, Rileigh and Jillian; one great-granddaughter, Adalynn; two brothers, Jim (Mary) Harvey and Don (Debra) Harvey, both of Greenfield; two sisters, Kay (Raymond) Smith and Becky Robinette, both of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Harvey; one infant sister; and both parents.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Dennis Brewer officiating and cremation following the service.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of the service at the funeral home.
