Executive Director
Highland County Visitors Bureau

Whether you are an amateur or professional, you may want to enter one or both of these contests to help design the new tagline and logo for the Visitors Bureau of Highland County.

The first contest will be for the design of a tagline for the Visitors Bureau. This contest will be Dec. 12-19. A winner will be chosen no later than Jan. 8.

The second contest will be for the design of a new logo for the Visitors Bureau. This will require the “creative" to incorporate the winning tagline into the logo design. This contest will run from Jan. 9-16.

The winner of each contest gets paid.

The contests will be managed by the company Squadhelp. When you enter the contests, you are referred to as a “creative.”

Here is how to enter: Follow the link, http://www.squadhelp.com/views/pages/become_creative.php

Squadhelp is available by phone or by chat to assist with getting started.

The Visitors Bureau of Highland County contest title is “Brand Highland County.”

How this works is instead of hiring a branding agency, Squadhelp will host the two contests for the Visitors Bureau. At the end of the contest, the Visitors Bureau will select the winner.

We are really excited to launch this project and eager to see the results. The “creatives” will be supplied with information regarding tourism opportunities throughout Highland County. This contest is the result of a Visitors Bureau of Highland County strategic planning session led by Dr. Kevin Boys, president of Southern State Community College.

"We would like to thank Dr. Boys for his leadership during our planning session," said Tim Koehl, vice president of the Visitors Bureau.

"By conducting a SWOT analysis, we as a board, collectively identified our strengths and weaknesses, and evaluated our opportunities and threats. Bryson and Boys analyzed those results and we are now initiating work on our strategic plan. The board is excited to begin implementing this strategy to brand Highland County and attract visitors to our neck of the woods,” Koehl said.

Volunteers are welcome at the office to greet visitors to the Welcome Center and provide information based upon the visitors requests.
