On Monday, Dec. 30 at 9:14 p.m., employees of Flagway on Jefferson Street in Greenfield reported to the police department that a male wearing a ski mask had entered the store and displayed a handgun and demanded cash.
The employees complied with the suspect, who then fled the store on foot heading eastbound toward Second Street.
Responding officers were able to determine the identity of the suspect based on evidence from the scene.
At 1:14 a.m., officers along with the Hillsboro/Greenfield Joint SRT team executed a search warrant at 215 McClain Ave. and located the suspect, Andrew Staats, age 30, of Greenfield.
Items of evidence related to the robbery were also located inside the residence.
Staats was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery (F1) and taken to the Greenfield jail. His bond was set at $100,000 cash only and he will appear for arraignment in Highland County Court, Greenfield, on Friday, Jan. 3.
