To the editor:

I have been a resident of Highland County for more years than I care to remember. We lived about three miles out of town for many years before becoming actual Hillsboroans. We have always loved this area.

I recently called the city building to ask if Fairground Road was within the city limits. I reported that there was a huge chuckhole there, maybe four feet wide by two feet across and surely one foot deep for more. I had hit it and was surprised I didn’t lose a wheel.

Just a day or two later, I checked it out, and it had been repaired.

I wish to thank the Street Department for their prompt attention to this matter. Where else could area residents receive such immediate response?

I don’t think I know the people who work for the Street Department, and it didn’t matter. We should consider ourselves fortunate to live in a city such as this.

Thank you.
