		<description>Alva Martin&amp;rsquo;s &amp;ldquo;History of Clay Township of Highland County Ohio&amp;rdquo; says that Jacob Fender built his brick house in 1852.&amp;nbsp;In this same book, Alva writes the following about Israel Rice: &amp;ldquo;Israel Rice moved to Clay Township in 1838 and settled near Buford.</description>
